Let me start of by saying, I LOVE this color combo! I wanted something simple yet complicated? Does that even exist? lols I initially chose a different blue, it was all kinds of wrong! It looked murky and disgusting, so I removed everything and started all over. I can't even tell you what color I used, not even the brand. But I love it, the color combo goes so well together! I initially wanted to do a base sheer pink but scrapped that after realizing I can get away without using extra polish.
I've been filing the corners of my nails rounded a bit lately and kind of like it. It's much harder to gauge how much to file and still be even. Square is much easier to do, but I like how it looks rounded, less harsh and doesn't chip as easily.

The weather's been quite dreadful here on the Northern East coast. We've been plagued by these torrential rains lately. I mean, there has been some days where it'll be absolutely beautiful, like yesterday, but it's a damn tease because today, we're back to the nasty rain. I've been looking for rain boots for like ages, and with my calves being as big as they are, it's been a very frustrating process. I found that I fit the Tretorn Vinter Skerry's fine, but I cannot in my life, find them in size 39 (US8). They list the circumference as being 15 inches and it hits right under the biggest part of my calf, so it fits. It didn't hurt that I tried them on at Century 21. So I had my heart set on purchasing those at C21 and headed there last night after work but unfortunately, they didn't carry them anymore. Neither did DSW, which I trekked all the way back up to 14th street, mind you. Not only did they not carry Tretorn, but they had NO rain boots whatsoever. Well at least it was a beautiful day but by then I was tired, frustrated and just plain pissed the hell off that no where had rain boots. I'm tired of all these companies making boots JUST for skinny legs. We need boots too, and it doesn't hurt your business if you would make something for everyone. I'm not a super big girl, but I just so happen to have muscular calves, and my tootsies want to be dry just as much as the other girl and also be stylish.
I went home empty handed and did some searching online. I didn't want to spend $150 for the Hunter Huntress, which is advertised as having a 16.5 inch circumference, because at the end, they are rubber boots that aren't guaranteed to fit. I did measure my calves and they are roughly 17 inches, which by those standards, would NOT fit. Tretorn also had a tall boot that came in wide calf but at 16 inches, I was also taking a big risk of it not fitting, even with the adjustable buckle. I ended up ordering from the Tretorn Skerry Svinga from 6pm, which is a bit more than what I wanted to spend but luckily I found a 10% off coupon. They are cut a bit different from the rest, because they come right under your calves. In the end, I am still kind of pissed about the whole situation but am also happy that I finally purchased a pair of rain boots that I like, both style and fit, not so much color but can deal with. Oh did I not mention they only had the yellow? So yeah, here are the ones I bought. And this ends my craziness...somewhat lol Thanks for reading!
I'm so not a fan of this textured polish trend going on. My nails feel like a stucco wall and looks like the buildings in Miami! Which is weird because I do love the color, it's called Sour Apple, but too bad the textured feel makes it look like I did a very bad job painting them. Now I can say that I tried it and don't like it. I have to say, the application wasn't half bad, it might have dried quicker than regular polish but I think this was expected. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to use top coat or not, but I used it anyway. It definitely did not diminish the effects, so I'd say use a top coat. My person preference? Do not like! lol Unless I'm being lazy tonight, I am removing this and painting something else. I can't stand this feeling anymoreeeeeeeee lols -=X
Oh, btw, I'm trying out this new rounded corner thing, I'm kinda digging it. It's a change but it takes a bit more time and effort than filing my nails straight square. I don't know, I think I'm going to keep this up for a while -=)
Is it summertime yet? There were a few scorchers here in the big apple but today it's back to the raining cold drabbiness. We're trying not to put in the AC until later, just to save some money. I think we're still paying for last summer's electricity bill! But it's weird though, I used to hate the heat but after I had the Munch, I kind of like it now. Definitely prefer it warm than cold lols And I loveeee bright colors like this beautiful hot pink from Kiko. There doesn't seem to be any names to the Kiko colors, this one was numbered 283. From my experience with this brand, application is always smooth and I had no trouble at all. Didn't even have to do clean up afterwards. Hot pink is one of my absolute favorite, but then again, I have a lot of favorites lol Well toodloos loves! <3
I had this in my draft for quite some time waiting for a day where I have no new mani's to post about. Well the day has come lol. I haven't painted my nails in a while, not because I don't have time because I do lol I've just been so lazy when it comes to my manicure! I don't know what's going on!! Here was a good idea gone wrong, because we all know a saran mani is absolutely gorgeous. Well, when you get the color combo right... Well yeah, I didn't lol What I thought would look great together, looked like crap. My dark purple wasn't dark enough, my light purple wasn't light enough. Not enough contrast to make either of the colors pop so I ended up with a mass of blahness. Anyways, I hope everyone is doing well and hopefully I will get back into the swing of things soon!
